DigitalOcean GPU Droplets are virtual machines powered by GPUs for AI/ML workloads. With GPU Droplets, you can run training and inference on AI/ML models, process large data sets and complex neural networks for deep learning use cases, and serve additional use cases like high-performance computing (HPC).

DigitalOcean provides a 99.5% uptime SLA for GPU Droplets.

Will I be billed for powered-off GPU Droplets?

When you power off your GPU Droplet, you are still billed for it. This is because your disk space, CPU, RAM, and IP address are all reserved, even while powered off. Therefore, charges are made until you destroy the instance.

How are GPU Droplets billed?

GPU Droplets are billed per second with a 5-minute minimum billing period.

What if I use my GPU Droplet for less than a month, would I still be charged for the whole month?

No. You will only be charged for the time you use your GPU Droplet in seconds. If you use your GPU Droplet for more than the standard 672-hour monthly limit, you will still be charged for the time you use your GPU Droplets in seconds.

Why are scratch disks not included in some GPU Droplets?
Scratch disks are geared towards large model training use cases. GPUs that are more appropriate for inference and graphics do not include a scratch disk. Learn more about large language model training.
